Ready for a HEAVY thought?
What God wants you to know can be summed up in one verse, just one verse, if you fully understand it.
Here’s the verse explained:
Wages are something a person has earned. These wages are fully expected for labors.
The wages of sin (things we’ve done wrong in God’s eyes), what the sinner has earned, what should be fully expected is…
Not the first death that comes to all, we are talking about the second death, the death that lands a person in hell forever.
For those who are convicted of their sin, meaning they understand and agree that their sin is deserving of hell; they have changed their mind regarding the severity of their sin. In other words, they now understand that hell is right for them, for them there is hope. For them there is an offering.
This offering is a free gift of God. This free gift offers eternal life. This gift saves a man from the eternal death in hell he deserves.
The free gift of God is eternal life in and through Jesus Christ. His Blood cleanses from all sin. Those sins that have earned death; His Blood cleanses them ALL. You shall be as if you have never sinned at all.
The gift of God is granted when you trust in Christ alone to cleanse you and save you. What does it mean to trust in Him? You are trusting that Jesus endured the Wrath of God you deserve on His Cross. God didn’t forget your sin; He laid your sin on Jesus and punished Him for it.
What is that one verse?
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
For the one cleansed of sin by the Blood of Jesus, also means they have been immersed into His death; that means we have died to SELF! But we didn’t die to be dead, we died to be raised up new.
Just as Jesus was raised from the dead, we are raised up out of death to self. Not to walk again as we once did, we are raised up to walk in newness of life. We have been set free from sin and death. Because of this freedom and newness of life we no longer walk, talk, and think like the world, like the old self.
Romans 6:4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
