    Road Kill and Crows

On my way into work this morning there was road kill in the opposite lane. As a was about a quarter mile away a crow glided in and was taking a look. We've all seen road kill and crows on the road enough to know, the crows come in, peck at it until they are scared off by an oncoming car, and then when they feel safe they come back to peck a little more.

This morning as I passed I thought, "that's how evangelizing can be." You get an opportunity to share Truth for a little while (sometimes longer than others), but then interference comes in. The person is done listening, someone interrupts, whatever the case may be; but you "pecked" a little bit. What the Word would call planting or watering seed.

As I kept driving I was thinking, I wonder if that is my pearl for today. Then I got to where I pray, read, study, and write; and what do you know, this is where I was at in my RED LETTER CHALLENGE for today:

John 4:35-38 Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, then comes the harvest'? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. 36 Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. 37 For here the saying holds true, 'One sows and another reaps.' 38 I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor."

Never underestimate how the Lord will use your "peck" in someone's life, regardless of how brief or seemingly insignificant.
