What is the definition of “justified”?
Justified: to be declared innocent or guiltless
Why must a person be justified in God’s sight?
Since we have all sinned and are guilty before God and will face Him on Judgment Day and be condemned forever if we die in our sin – we must be justified if we are to be saved from the just consequence of our sin. It is NOT injustice on God’s part to send guilty sinners to hell, we’ve broken His Law and all law-breakers must be punished. That is not difficult to grasp, even every society in the world there is a judicial system that addresses the law-breakers of that culture.
How does the world attempt to be justified?
We see man’s attempt to be justified through good works, religion, and ritual. This is a worthless attempt by man to earn justification and is offensive to God.
How can a person be justified?
Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh (as shown in John 1), lived the perfect, sinless life, was brutalized and hung on a Cross where He became sin, He suffered and paid for the sins of the world as the Wrath of God was poured out on Him, was raised from the dead, defeating sin and death so that those who put their faith, trust, and belief in Him and His finished work on the Cross shall be justified, they are declared innocent, not because they are, but because they have been cleansed in the Blood of Christ. They are justified by Grace through faith.

Galatians 2:16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
Galatians 2:17 But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not!
