Die in Sin:

Ezekiel 18:20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

There is certainly plenty of criticism in the world for placing such emphasis on “the bad parts” – both from those in the world and those in the church. The reality is, if a man doesn’t know why he will be condemned for eternity, and if he doesn’t understand that his sin makes him fully and completely deserving of God’s Wrath, he will not only NOT flee to the only One that can save him, but the command to do so will sound like foolishness to him. Taking a large syringe and trying to inject a man with a cure for a disease he has not been convinced he has will not only be met with resistance, but the one holding the syringe will be thought a mad man. In the same way, trying to “inject” a man with Jesus when he doesn’t fully understand his need of a Savior will be met with resistance and will be foolishness to him. To present Jesus as One who wants you to have “fulfillment” in this life is to misrepresent the Gospel. Love, Hope, and Peace in this life comes from the Joy of belonging to Christ and setting our eyes on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. A man hours from death does not care about ‘his best life now”, he wants to know what he must do to be saved, and he won’t have a desperate need to know this unless he knows what he must be saved from.

John 8:21 So he said to them again, "I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come."

John 8:24 I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins."

John 3:18-19 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.

Romans 5:16a  And the free gift is not like the result of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation,
